Structure fire reported on Harrison Avenue in Whitewater Township

LEADING THE WAY. CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND STORMS. THEY ARE MAKING OUR WAY INTO OUR REGION TODAY. TODAY WE GOT A WET WEDNESDAY AHEAD. GOOD MORNING TO YOU. I’M MEGAN MITCHELL AND I’M KELLY RIPPIN. THANKS SO MUCH FOR JOINING US. WE’VE GOT METEOROLOGIST RANDI RICO GIVING US THE TIMING BECAUSE WE’VE GOT THE MORNING COMMUTE LOOKING DRY SO FAR. BUT TIMING OUT THAT MORE WIDESPREAD RAIN AS WE GET THROUGH THE DAY. AND WE’RE LOOKING OUT THIS MORNING THE EARLY MORNING BATCH KIND OF FELL APART BEFORE IT GOT HERE. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF SPRINKLES THAT TRIED TO MAKE THEIR WAY INTO MAYSVILLE AND OVER TOWARD ADAMS COUNTY EARLY THIS MORNING, AND YOU CAN SEE MAYBE A SHOWER MAKING ITS WAY INTO AREAS OF MASON COUNTY, RIGHT NOW JUST SOUTH OF MAYSVILLE. BUT OTHER THAN THAT, THINGS ARE ACTUALLY PRETTY QUIET. A LOT OF THE RAIN TO THE SOUTH FIZZLED AS IT MOVED OUR WAY. YOU CAN SEE SOME LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS NOW INTO EASTERN KENTUCKY, BUT WE’RE WATCHING FOR LATER. TODAY IS THE APPROACHING COLD FRONT BECAUSE IT’S SO HUMID OUTSIDE. IT’LL BRING US INTENSE RAIN. THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME LIGHTNING, BUT ALL IN ALL, OUR THREAT FOR STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS IS ACTUALLY PRETTY LOW. YOU CAN SEE THE SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR TODAY. SOME OF THE AREA IN GREEN, WHICH IS A MARGINAL RISK, A ONE OUT OF FIVE. MOST OF US WILL JUST SEE RUN OF THE MILL THUNDERSTORMS, BUT IT COULD COME DOWN PRETTY GOOD, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE HUMIDITY. THIS MORNING. TEMPERATURES SITTING IN THE UPPER 60S AND 70 DEGREES OR SO IN HAMILTON IT IS A WEATHER IMPACT DAY WITH AFTERNOON AND EVENING STORMS BY ABOUT THE LUNCH HOUR, THE RAIN CHANCE STARTS TO GO UP. WE COULD HAVE AN ISOLATED STRONG STORM WITH GUSTY WINDS, BUT MOST PLACES JUST LOOKING AT INTENSE RAIN. THE POTENTIAL FOR THAT RAIN AND LIGHTNING TO IMPACT YOUR PLANS INTO THE EVENING. SO FOR TODAY, PLAN ON TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT NEAR THE LOW 80S, BUT WITH THE HUMIDITY, IT’LL STILL FEEL LIKE THE UPPER 80S ONCE THIS FRONT PASSES BY. A LOT OF RELIEF. ON THE WAY, WE’LL TALK ABOUT THE COMFORTABLE AIR FOR THE WEEKEND COMING UP IN A FEW MINUTES. MEGAN. ALL RIGHT RANDY, THANK YOU. HAPPENING RIGHT NOW GETTING YOU READY FOR PHASE TWO OF THE MONTHS LONG NORWOOD LATERAL CLOSURE. RIGHT. SO STARTING AT 6:00 SUNDAY NIGHT, ALL WESTBOUND LANES WILL START TO CLOSE, MEANING IT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE NEXT WEEK. WLWT NEWS FIVE’S GIACOMO LUCA LIVE FROM THE I-70 571 CONNECTOR WITH A LOOK AT THE WORK THAT’S BEEN DONE SO FAR AHEAD OF THE NEXT CLOSURE. AND THIS IS JUST GOOD TO KEEP IN MIND AHEAD OF NEXT WEEK, GIACOMO. YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT KELLY. WE ARE TAKING A A LIVE DRIVE ALONG THE EASTBOUND LANES OF THE NORWOOD LATERAL THAT HAVE BEEN FRESHLY PAVED, VERY SMOOTH THIS MORNING AS WE TAKE A LITTLE DRIVE ON THIS EARLY MORNING COMMUTE. OF COURSE, WE KNOW THE IMPACTS OF ALL THIS CONSTRUCTION HAVING MAJOR IMPACTS FOR THOSE MORNING COMMUTERS. NOW, THE WORK FLIPPING OVER TO THE WESTBOUND LANES, RESULTING IN A FULL CLOSURE THAT WILL HAPPEN OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS, STARTING THIS WEEKEND. NOW, DURING PHASE ONE OF THE CLOSURES, WE SPOKE WITH DRIVERS WHO TOLD US HOW THEY’RE FEELING ABOUT THE TRAFFIC. SO FAR, EVERYBODY IS TRYING TO AVOID IT, SO YOU GET THE BACKUPS ON THE MAIN STREET, ROADS AND EVERYTHING. SO IT’S KIND OF BEEN BEEN KIND OF HECTIC. I DON’T THINK THAT WHAT THEY’RE DOING SHOULD SHUT IT DOWN FOR DURING THE TIME THAT IT’S REALLY NEEDED. MAYBE TO WORK OVERNIGHT WOULD HAVE MADE MORE SENSE. NOW WE GOT A BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF THE WORK THAT’S BEING DONE ON THE EASTBOUND LANES FROM OUR SKY FIVE DRONE. OHIO’S DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION OFFICIALS SAY THE PROJECT IS TARGETING REHAB WORK IN THE MAINLINE BRIDGES OVER PADDOCK ROAD, READING ROAD AND ROSS AVENUE. THEY’LL ALSO GET NEW JOINTS AND BARRIERS, SEALS AND A NEW PAINT JOB. PLUS THAT FRESH SURFACE ACROSS THE EXPRESSWAY THAT YOU GOT A NICE LOOK AT EARLY THIS MORNING. MEANWHILE, OFFICIALS SAY, UH, THERE ISN’T ENOUGH ROOM TO DO ALL THAT CONSTRUCTION WORK AND ALSO ACCOMMODATE THE DRIVERS AND TO DO THAT SAFELY. SO THAT’S THE REASON THEY’VE HAD TO SHUT IT DOWN OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS. THERE’S BEEN SOME 700 CRASHES ALONG THE NORWOOD LATERAL. SO CONSTRUCTION WORKERS CERTAINLY CONCERNED AS THEY COMPLETE THAT WORK. MEANWHILE, THE MAJOR WORK IT’S EXPECTED TO FINISH UP AROUND SEPTEMBER THE 27TH. AND THEN YOU COULD SEE SOME OF THOSE INTERMITTENT SINGLE LANE CLOSURES AS YOU DRIVE THROUGH THE LATERAL. AFTER THAT, UNTIL THEY COMPLETE ALL THE WORK. WE’RE LIVE ALONG THE NORWOOD LATERAL THIS MORNING. GIACOMO LUCA WLWT NEWS FIVE. GIACOMO. THANK YOU. OF COURSE, WE’LL KEEP REMINDING YOU AHEAD OF NEXT WEEK. NOW WE ARE LEADING THE WAY WITH BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING. A SHOOTING IN THE HEART OF MOUNT HEALTHY. IT HAPPENED SHORTLY BEFORE THREE THIS MORNING AT THE CORNER OF HAMILTON AVENUE AND KENNY AVENUE. OUR CAMERA SAW DOZENS OF EVIDENCE MARKERS NEAR SHELL CASINGS AT THE SCENE. WE ARE TOLD ONE PERSON IS BEING TREATED AT UC MEDICAL CENTER. AFTER THAT ATTACK, SEVERAL BUSINESSES NEARBY ALSO HAVE DAMAGE TO THEIR STOREFRONTS. AND HAPPENING TODAY, A SECOND MENTAL EVALUATION FOR A MAN ACCUSED OF MURDERING HIS FATHER’S FIANCE IN FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP LAST YEAR. AND IT COMES AFTER A PSYCHOLOGIST PREVIOUSLY FOUND ROBBIE ROBINSON NOT COMPETENT TO STAND TRIAL. THE PROSECUTION ASKED FOR A SECOND OPINION. ROBINSON WAS ARRESTED LAST MAY AFTER PROSECUTORS SAY HE BEAT 50 YEAR OLD BRENDA SCOTT AND SET HER ON FIRE. SCOTT ENDED UP JUMPING OUT OF A SECOND STORY WINDOW. SHE DIED ALMOST A MONTH LATER. TODAY’S HEARING THAT IS SET FOR 9 A.M. A TRAGIC UPDATE ABOUT A MISSING LOVELAND MOTHER. HER BODY WAS DISCOVERED IN A TRASH CAN BEHIND A VACANT BUILDING IN PADDOCK HILLS. 50 YEAR OLD DEAN ALLEN HAS BEEN CHARGED AND ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO HER DEATH. NOW 30 YEAR OLD BRITTANY MORAN WAS LAST SEEN THREE WEEKS AGO. IT’S STILL UNCLEAR HOW OR WHEN SHE DIED. HAMILTON COUNTY’S PROSECUTOR MELISSA POWERS SAYS ALLEN PUT HER BODY IN A TRASH CAN, AND RIGHT NOW HE IS CHARGED WITH TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE AND ABUSE OF A CORPSE. NOW, MORAN’S FAMILY IS ASKING FOR YOUR HELP. STILL, TO GIVE THE MOTHER OF SEVEN A PROPER BURIAL. AND THESE CHILDREN, THEY DESERVE A PLACE TO AT LEAST GO HONOR THEIR MOTHER. SO SHE WOULD LIKE TO GET A FINAL RESTING PLACE FOR HER DAUGHTER. SOMEWHERE THAT THEY CAN GO AND GET SOME PEACE AND CLOSURE. SINCE THEY DIDN’T GET PROPER CLOSURE, THE FAMILY HAS SET UP A GOFUNDME IN BRITTANY’S NAME TO HELP BURY HER. ALAN’S NEXT COU
